Second grade homework every night is:
- read for at least 20 minutes
- practice basic math facts (adding and subtracting from 0-20)
- practice spelling patterns

Reading at Home
Encouraging your child to read at home daily is one of the most important ways to build second grade skills. Reading books, kids magazines, or ebooks are all terrific!
Book Folders
Your child will bring home a Book Folder with a book to read at home each night.
On the log sheet:
Unfinished Worksheets
If you see a partially-completed worksheet come home in your child's folder, don't worry! I review all worksheets before they go home. I do not expect uncompleted items to be finished at home unless I stamp them

Tips for studying spelling
Reading at Home

- write the title of the book (once)
- add your initials when you feel that your child has mastered their current book.
- you do not need to write the number of minutes your child reads
